A nation's literature is the truest record of its spirit. This set celebrates the Ukrainian literary tradition, from Taras Shevchenko's Kobzar, the foundational work of the national poet, to the acclaimed contemporary fiction of Maria Matios and the frontline reflections of Artem Chekh. All five books, poetry and prose alike, appear in English from Glagoslav Publications, an independent press devoted to rarely translated works of the Slavic world. It is a set for the reader with Ukrainian roots, the student of Eastern Europe, and anyone who believes in the power of a people's voice.
